Dreadful customer service

My Sim has not arrived in the post after 8 days. We are off travelling today. 0044 only suggested that until they find out what has happened to it, they cannot send a replacement or refund. Not at all helpful and I shall not be using this service again. One would have thought that a SIM can be cancelled and another sent rather than leave the CUSTOMER in the lurch
