SMS problem from websites
I'm trying to get various travel sites to send me SMS messages regarding travel updates. As an example, see flightstats.co.uk
Many of the sites ask for the name of the service provider. I've tried giving them the 7924 number and O2 as the service provider, but this hasn't worked. I have received SMS messages from Ekit, so the phone is basically working. And I can send SMS text messages from Canada to this number (have to use 011 44 7924 xxxxx and SMS is only recieved on one of two networks, but it is basically working). But how can websites send me messages from the UK?

If the problem presists please contact Ekit at; mobile@ekit.com and they may be able to advise further.
1. Any website that asks for the name of the company your cell phone is with, will not work. This is because the website will send an email to the SMS gateway, and Ekit does not currently support that.
2. Messages from Google are not supported by Ekit.
Also worth mentioning, in order to use the Easy Dial numbers from North America, you have to be prefixed with 011.
In North America, we are told to select our network by dialing 2 + PIN. If you do that, the SMS messages may not follow you. This seems to be intermittant, and does not depend on which network you sent the message on.
In short, my plan to use SMS to keep up-to-date with travel arrangements and delays has hit a major snag. So please keep in mind that when Ekit say they have SMS, it doesn't really have all the features and functions that you may be used to.
